We are sponsoring the STRAY DOGS OF TRIKALA shelter. You might remember them from TARA the poor dog that suffered horrible injuries caused by a dog fight.
Info Regarding Tara's Location, and the terrible Conditions of the shelter she came from. We're told that it has basically been left to the Hand of God! About 140 animals kept in a tight space. Regarding this Terrible Shelter where Tara was taken from it is the municipal shelter (the only one in Trikala) But 2 years ago the mayor withdrew all funds and support from the shelter, which is illegal because they get funds from the government. The girls there are doing what they can, with their own expenses, but there are too many dogs in the shelter (140), too many strays outside of it and some other difficult cases, like Adam. After the girls took over 2 years ago they spent thousands of Euros to improve it (their own money), they constructed houses, roofs and many other things (you will see in the new photos). The shelter is situated outside the city, but in close range and now the mayor wants to move the facilities (that the girls paid to improve) very far away from the city in a new location (we don't know if there is water there)! The residents of the shelter are dogs that were left there as puppies (now they are older, but the girls couldn't send them away), or very sick dogs that they nursed and have been healed (some of them amputated), but they are reasonably well! They are in such a bad financial state, that The Rescuers are literally going to Restaurants & Begging for Leftover Food for the Dogs In addition, keep in mind that Trikala is a small town and a small society, so they need our help!
There are 140 dogs inside the shelter and a lot more in the streets. These Animals are literally starving to Death & in Dire Need of Medical Care. There are only 5-6 girls in the whole of Trikala that are daily involved with the shelter and the strays. They need food, medicine and supplies and nobody supports them. They already have to pay a big amount of money to several vets (thousands of Euros) because they pay for sterilizations and difficult cases such as multiple fractures, amputations etc. And of course they don’t get any support or funding from the local municipality whose responsibility it is.

Tara is having Skin Graft Surgery this Upcoming Week and an Adopter "Lina" (in Athens) will be getting her once she's well enough. Please Help Tara's Friends that she left behind!
